Sold off 2 pieces of my Big-Mama camera set today. Went to City Hall, Lavender and Kallang to meet the buyers. Didn't really feel like welcoming the cash actually, those lovely lenses have a tinge of sentiment inside, and I don't mean dusts. Sigh..
More to sell over the next few days, sales has been surprisingly good. I'm getting the prices I had wanted, which means minimal loss. Anyway I'm still feeling moody, broody somewhere in my oogey boogey. If it's any consolation, I bought a new compact camera today! Definitely much cheaper than its predecessor, and won't come with anymore "upgrades". Actually, it's not very compact lah but for my standards (and large hands), it's quite small already. And so it is..

So long, and thanks for all the fish!
Firstly, I think "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" is a nutty show. It's really a potluck of crazy imagination and creativity squeezed chaotically into 1hr 40min. But all in all, amidst the madness, I found plenty of funny moments laughing my cheese off. My point of view was, if you THINK its funny, just laugh, even if it seems stupid later. Thats the way to get ur cheese off and enjoy the most of a comedy. Hehe..
Anyway I really love the song.. "So long, so long, so long, so long.. and thanks for all the fish!" Haha, i dun think anyone will fully appreciate it until they get to watch the movie, which is not exactly recommended as a kid show btw, cos its pretty complex. So Eliz, find me the mp3 and we'll have a nice new blog song!
ALl in the all, the day has been rather tiring for me. Not quite heartening, but gives me joy to see all my lovely young friends. Shalom and Karen had fever, sorry I didnt know otherwise I would have taken more care and hastened the movement a bit. Jere and Nat were sporting, even if it meant having to travel half the stretch of orchard to get to Heeren cos the girls wanted to walk walk. Joey kept slapping my shoulder. I havent checked but I'm pretty sure it's blue black now, repent if u ever get to read this! Zihan was being her normal chatty self, but makes the company more lively nonetheless. Cheryl had a good time making sure that Shalom's Auntie side was made known to everyone! Haha.. Actually we all know liao hor. Mooohahaha. Okie lah Shalom's mature. Keke
I had to answer messages (SMS) throughout the whole day. Why? Cos I'm gonna sell my DSLR camera and everything along with it. Its a sad goodbye to my hobby, and as I was packing up the boxes tonight it really added to the mess. Why the sudden decision you might ask. Well, I put in some thought over the last weeks and realize that my investment in the whole pile of equipment wasnt justified, espcially since i was a mere student. Seeing everyone snapping away happily during the Church camp made me wish I had something as compact as that! Haha.. sounds stupid but its true. I came home with like 7 pictures and non worth remembering. Pictures arent taken to impress, they hold memories man! I'm pretty green with envy at blogs and online albums filled with pictures, thats the way it should be. :)
Yes, you've probably guessed. I'm gonna be getting a new compact and CHEAPER camera after the whole selling thing goes over. Cheer up Mr Dan, tomorrow has enough worries (and plenty more treasures) for itself! Yea yea!! Woohoo..
PS: Added the lyrics to the Hitchhiker song.
So long and thanks for all the fish
So sad that it should come to this
We tried to warn you all, but oh dear
You may not share our intellect
Which might explain your disrespect
For all the natural wonders that grow around you
So long, so long, and thanks for all the fish
The world’s about to be destroyed
There’s no point getting all annoyed
Lie back and let the planet dissolve around you
Despite those nets of tuna fleets
We thought that most of you were sweet
Especially tiny tots and your pregnant women
So long, so long, so long, so long, so long
So long, so long, so long, so long, so long
So long, so long and thanks for all the fish
If I had just one last wish
I would like a tasty fish
If we could just change one thing
We would all have learned to sing
Come one and all
Man and mammal
Side by side in life’s great gene pool
So long, so long, so long, so long, so long
So long, so long, so long, so long, so long
So long, so long and thanks for all the fish

Hi ho! Hi ho!
I think most of you should have discovered by now, I'm a big fan of Madagascar! Wheeee.. I really, thoroughly enjoyed the show when it was first released. Apparently a lot of people didn't like it and it had some mixed reviews. Not sure why, maybe I just had a good time laughing at all the goofiness and being cracked up by the nutty song. The dialogues were witty and crappy too.
"Do not you see that you've insulted the freak?"
"Hail the New York Giants!"
Haha.. Alright in the spirit of good fun, let me share the lyrics of the song on my blog so more people can sing with me!

My Next Chapter
I just came back from an awesome church camp last night. It was everything I had expected, and perhaps more! Before I go into it, for my skool friends reading this, I hope you can read thru the whole entry, and that you might be blest as much as I was. You know my fellow SCE suffferers? I think I never once deserved the grades I have gotten so far over the last 2 years. I think it nothing more than the grace of God for someone who just responds in faith to him (and spends his sundays in church)!! :)
Life is just so different when you have someone as lovely as Jesus. He's not "lovely" like those cute and cuddly penguins in Madagascar, but He's "lovely" because He gave up everything for one as unlovely as me. Bible says "this is love: not that we love God, but that He first loved us" and in another part says "the love of Christ compels us". First hand experience? Plenty in this camp.
The Lord spoke to me a many times, some for myself, some for others. Thinking back on what I said in the worship I led on 5th June Sunday now, I'm pretty sure its from the Lord. I said that the Lord is taking our church through a time of breakthrough, and something wonderful is going to come our way for the church. Sounds cliche, but I believe it, the time is now. Funny that the Camp Speaker should speak about the same thing, not for one session but all the sessions. And even ended up singing one of the songs we sang for service on Sunday - "One Voice". I had another vision when I was praying on Wed night, I saw the view of a person in an airplane's cockpit as it was picking up speed on a runway til a point when it was ready to take off. That same night, the speaker mentioned this to the church before he closed - "You're going to fly". I see it in my spirit, and I believe it in my heart. Perhaps it's appropriate for me to say this now, I believe the saturday service will be a big part of the "New Thing".
Thru the 5 days of the camp, I really had a good chance to get to know afew people better. Visually, verbally, or simply thru spending time alongside them. It's a amazing the hand of God upon some people, I wish I could really tell you all how wonderfully made you are. Funny thing is, I don't remember loving my sheep (and some others) so much but now I know I do.
Shalom asked me how come I didnt go up to get prayed for by the speaker. I told her that I didn't feel a need to. Not that I'm proud or anything but the thing is the Lord speaks to me as well with regards to my own life, I don't need to go up to the speaker and request for a word. But if there's an altar call for something I know I need to respond to, I will! The word of the Lord for me before the camp was "Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever" from the last part of Psalm 23. Funny eh? And so I chose my Camp Worshp songs accordingly too. Haha.. And as I responded to those words, the Lord spoke to me to "Forget the former things, do not dwell on the past.. See, I am doing a new thing". ANd you think it's just for the church only? Moohahaha. Anyway, the grand finale of it all was when those words hit me hard on thurs morning. I just cupped my face with my hands and flooded it with mucus and tears. God released me of my past dissapointments and my "years of pain". Really awesome I tell ya! Though I don't see the "New thing" coming yet, but my miracle has already begun, just that it's 30miles up north now. :)
With that I'm closing the former chapter of my life (barreness and dry season as the speaker would say it), and letting God write the Next Chapter of it. Release!!! Praise the Lord. Hahaha

Will be travelling up to Awana, Genting on Monday morning. Should be staying overnight at church tomorrow, means its my last night at home, also implying I wont be online anymore after this entry. Hehe..
Alright, I'll cross my fingers and hope that Genting will be picturesque and beautiful this season so my lovely viewers will have something to look forward to when I'm back. Okie, goodnight and goodbye folks! Til I get back on 10th June! :)

Relief
A lot has happened over the last 1 week. Well nothing much for my personal life, just plenty of work going on. Haha.. My project, which was a Seminar, is finally over. It was a success! Well, to me at least. A larger than stipulated crowd, and plenty of sales last night! Lots of long hours, tough work and plenty of action throughout the last 3 weeks but its finally over. What a relief. Got to meet a lot of people, speak with them and had lots of fun in the process. I'm a happy man to be honest, I worked at something I enjoy, learnt a lot, had fun and got paid in the process! I'm quite sure speaking with people, meeting up with new faces and making new acquaintances is very much my cup of tea.
Quite glad I didn't end up in the insurance business though, cos in the course of work over the last 3 weeks, I got to meet up with plenty of network marketing people and its really NOT my cup of tea. I dun like to meet folks up with the notion of Selling them something, I would rather "sell" Christ than to see people as part of my cash flow. That's just me, its nothing personal.
Waking up later than 7am is another thing I love. I'm a lazy bones in the morning, so I would rather work til late at night and go to work slightly later in the morning, at 9 in this case. My country manager asked if I would like to work for them permanently, not sure if it's a joke, but i take it as a compliment (for now). She said she would welcome me back part time, anytime. Means more money when I need it! Mooohaha..
Badminton tomorrow!! So happy. Church camp next week!! Even better. Sydney in 1 month's time!! I'm in heaven. I hope. Haha..
Anyway I gotta get you guys a pic of the dude who did the seminar, once I get it from Kevin. And a couple of interesting photos as well. Sorry bout the infrequent updates up til now. Thanks for bearing with me :)

Oh, what a day..
Firstly, thanks for all the wonderful people who asked about my grandfather's condition. His breathing had stablized on Sat and his pulse is normal. He still needs to breathe on the machine, because his lungs has collapsed, but he looks much more comfortable now. He can now respond to voices and is clearly conscious, so thats a good thing. :)
Secell had a BBQ cum overnight at Chancery Lane last night and it was coooool! The trip in the afternoon to Toa Payoh was well worth it, not because of the savings but the fun along the way. We stopped by at a VCD shop and watched "The Eye 10", and got a good laugh from the short segment being repeated. Proceeded to buy our groceries and bought some bubble tea before heading off to church. BBQ started at about 5.30pm and lotsa interesting food, of which most memorable for me was the Banana Bacon, created by our Cell Group! Good stuff I tell you, despite how weird you might imagine the taste to be. Oh yes, Yoel and Feri joined us for the goodies too.
We played some games thereafter to chop chop finish off the food. Last "food fest" game was a killer.. A killer mix of everything and M'kaddesh actually had to finish it. But of cos, though we said the game was merciless, we're not. Ended up the mixture was left unfinished. After the cleaning up, my new "Treasure Hunt" was played. Basically it's treasure hunt with clues planted around Thomson Road and Chancery Lane. Groups had to take pics of the clues with their handphone cams as verification.. And some of the clues are not visible unless Cameras are used (hehe). Anyway it was pretty fast and furious, and the first group that returned actually ran for most of the journey. Poor Jason was attached to them and had to keep up with their youthful zest. Feri joined us for the game too, although his group didnt win but I think they had fun nonetheless.
Participants may think doing these games are easy but they arent actually. Haha.. Cos when I went to plant the clues, I planted them in either very PUBLIC or PRIVATE places. When planting in public areas I had to be discrete about the sticking cos I was afraid people might get curious and alert security. When planting in private areas, I myself had to be in stealth mode lest I get caught for trespassing. =P
Anyway, we debated somewhat about what DVD to watch first on projector after the hunt. That was 11.45pm then.. and the idea was actually to catch Ju-on. Some protested as they would prefer comedies or action movies rather than a horror movie. So we caught "Pirates of the Caribbean" first, and I actually fell asleep at the last part. Haha.. Ju-on was up next, and some people disappeared to play card games elsewhere. It's a really story-less show I tell you. Just plain lots of sound shocking scenes and grossness. Anyway we spent a good time laughing at the show as we watched it. Last DVD was Matrix, part 1. And by this time, most people had already started concussing, all over the floor if i might add. I joined in the slumber party on the floor halfway through the show, the struggle was too unbearable. THat was 5.00am
After cleaning up the office at 10.30am, we ventured off to Mcdonalds for a hearty breakfast. And slowly, tired folks started to get too stoney and departed for home. I slept from 2-4pm and got up to prepare for the street soccer game at my place at 5pm. Algene, OCX, Isaac, Cyrus, Corn, Joel, Nathaniel and myself played in the tennis-court-turned-streetsoccer-court at my place. Fun but tiring lah, my fitness cannot make it. Got a sprain neck after that too. O_o"
Some of us went for dinner thereafter and here am I, just back from Chong Pang after a durian supper. Bought a durian for my dad too, though he's sleeping now.. A bit full, and durian breath.. But great day all in all, fulfilling to say the least.
Some photos from Secell BBQ overnight to share, as usual more in my photo album.
