Strangely Happy..

Woke up early this morning for tutorials at 7.50am, after an entire night of non-stop dreaming, and occasionally being woken up in the middle of the night by an irritating piece of fluttering paper on my roomate's table. Basically, the point was I had quite a bad night's rest. 2 hours of tutorials, followed by another 2 hours of lectures. Had a quick lunch at 12.30pm before heading off to the lab hoping to finish my lab project in time for tomorrow's assessment. Had some problems but largely managed to fix the minor problemo's. If the assessor isn't too strict and try to pull some stunts, should be able to run through the assessment smoothly. Hehe..

Feel a little light today, no idea, no explanation. Just feel strangely happy. Hmm? :)

Found a nice song from Gundam Seed Destiny (a Japanese Anime). It's about 2mb, and well worth the download, so give this page some loading time. I'm sure you'll enjoy it!

PS: Lydia, this is the anime girl who sang it. Hehe..

Romaji LyricsEnglish Translation
konna ni tsumetai tobari no fukaku de
anata wa hitori de nemutteru
inori no utagoe sabishii nohara wo
chiisa na hikari ga terashiteta
Beneath a veil so cold,
You deeply sleep, all alone
The melody of prayer; on the lonely fields,
a little light shined
anata no yume wo miteta
kodomo no you ni waratteta
natsukashiku mada tooku
sore wa mirai no yakusoku
I watched as you dreamed
You laughed like a child
So dear, and yet so far -
That is the promise of our future
itsuka midori no asa ni
itsuka tadoritsukeru to
fuyugareta kono sora wo
shinjiteiru kara
Fields of hope
That one day, on a green morning,
One day, we will make it there
Because in this wintered sky
We still believe
Fields of Hope
umarete kita hi ni dakishimete kureta
yasashii ano te wo sagashiteru
inori no utagoe hitotsu kiete mata hajimaru
tayorinaku setsunaku tsuzuku
On the day we were born, we were embraced
And now we search for those gentle hands again
The melody of prayer; one vanishes,
And all begins again; A powerless, painful continuation
itsuka midori no asa e
subete no yoru wo koete
sore wa tada hitori zutsu
mitsukete yuku basho dakara
One day, to that green morning,
We'll cross through all these nights
Because that is the place
Each one of us searches for
ima wa tada kono mune de
anata wo atatametai
natsukashiku mada tooi
yasuragi no tame ni
Fields of hope
Now, within my own heart,
I want to keep you warm
So dear, and yet so far -
In the name of peace
Fields of Hope
natsukashiku mada tooi
yakusoku no nohara
Fields of hope
Fields of hope
So dear, and yet so far -
The fields of promise
Fields of Hope

Another Earthquake..

Good Lord, I've just read about another Earthquake that had just taken place in Sumatra again. I believe most people in SG would have felt the tremors and ground shake only moments ago. Pre-liminary information on this earthquake just below.

Magnitude 8.2 - NORTHERN SUMATRA, INDONESIA
2005 March 28 16:09:37 UTC
Preliminary Earthquake Report
U.S. Geological Survey, National Earthquake Information Center
World Data Center for Seismology, Denver

A great earthquake occurred at 16:09:37 (UTC) on Monday, March 28, 2005. The magnitude 8.2 event has been located in NORTHERN SUMATRA, INDONESIA. (This event has been reviewed by a seismologist.)

Magnitude
8.2

Date-Time
Monday, March 29, 2005 at 00:09:37 (SG-Time)
= Coordinated Universal Time
Monday, March 28, 2005 at 11:09:37 PM
= local time at epicenter

Depth
30 km (18.6 miles) set by location program

Region
NORTHERN SUMATRA, INDONESIA

Source
U.S. Geological Survey, National Earthquake Information Center
World Data Center for Seismology, Denver

The depth of 30km indicates that it's another underground earthquake similar to the one that had happened on 26th Dec 2005. The previous one in Dec was measured 9.0 on the richter scale, this one is slightly less at 8.2 and its very bad still. Good grief, please pray that it won't lead to another Tsunami disaster. The wound had barely started to heal..

Easter Sunday~!

Okie, I had lots to say about today's worship at first but Blogger let me down and robbed me of my entry. T_T

But here's a super summarized one. 2 words, thank God! Service was a blast today, and I felt that the occasion really sunk into the congregration. It really helped that we had a very wonder Friday Special Programme in Chancery, it caused many ready hearts today. In my limited worship leadings, today's was one of the few (apart from camps) where I felt the touch of God right where I was on stage, despite having to juggle the song arrangements over and over in my mind - awesome.

Some adults came up to encourage me at the end of the service, these mean a lot to me because it shows God had moved in their hearts there and then during the worship. Eng Kwang once said this about worship leading, if 1 heart has been touched.. the objective has been met. Pastor Mark also said my words during the worship were aptly spoken, though I'm not sure which. Erm, actually I didn't really think through what I had wanted to say, most of it were spoken from the bottom of my heart in the spur of the moment. Come of it, I can't even remember what I had said, except for my peanut story.

Anyway, the musicians were great! Thanks to Uncle Dennis, Willy, Frances and JOSIAH! Yeppo, Josiah was the special drummer debutant and he did great for a first time! Sure, his sticks flew off and he forgot the ending of "Tell the World" but we're like so proud of him! Haha.. We're giving Pastor Mark and Auntie Janet extra reason to pray for the worship actually. Not bad hor, quite smart.. ^^

Baptism was wonderful too despite the rain. Its really nice to see elderly members for the dialect service brave the rain to support a sister's special day. Speaking of which was Vanessa and Auntie Fiona's special day too. Plenty of pics to "Tell the World!". Some youths stayed back to play touch rugby and Captain's bola.. quite muddy but fun nonetheless. Before it rained again that is. Had an overly-sumptuous dinner at Eunos MRT consisting of mee goreng, satays (again, but cheaper) and sugar cane! Gonna puke~! @_@

Drummer Debutant

It's gonna be easter sunday again tomorrow, my 22nd one. If you think about it, the number of special occasions like this that a person lives through in a lifetime actually do matter. Hmm, how many more easter sundays am I gonna live through? No idea man, perhaps this might even be my one and only time leading Easter Sunday service's worship in my entire life! It'll be a time of celebration tomorrow, and I certainly hope after Friday's special programme everyone will be in the mood (for love?). Feel like starting with a shout,"ARE YOU READY TO PRAISE THE LORD?!" But the congregration ain't all youths or kids so don't think that'll work. Hmm..

Anyway, as a prelude to tomorrow's special day, today's posting has come at an unusually early timeslot. Have you noticed? I'm most proud and glad to announce the debut of a special drummer tomorrow!! In the words of Russell Peters,"Somebody.. but I'm not telling who. Oh I think you might know him very well." ^^

Before I end off to study, just some thoughts from yesterday's Last Supper enactment at Chancery. I had a picture of a little peanut on the pavement last night. Then came a person, who saw that little peanut lying on that rough concrete, picked it up and placed it snuggly in his pocket. This person brought this little peanut into the comfort of his household. That little blob of fatty oils was myself. Once I lay in the mire of self, I could have been crushed, run over and stepped upon. But just at the right time, Jesus picked me up and brought me back with Him. It sounds funny the way it is, but when I think about that saving grace, I can't help but feel that I'm just a little peanut, so undeserving. And aptly put into words in that hymn, Amazing Love, "Amazing love, how can it be? That thou my God should die for me.."

And tomorrow, I stand before a congregation of God's people
To declare aloud in joyful jubilation, yet humble humility.
Of that amazing love, which has set us all free.
Come a beautiful Easter Sunday morning tomorrow,
Will you be there to join with me?

Happy Good Friday!

Had a late night's rest last night cos my biological clock was messed up. Was super awake til about 2am then started to turn zombie at a super accelerated rate. Had a good time chatting online til my hand eye coordination suddenly went hay-wire and I couldn't think properly already. Quite an interesting feeling, like getting high. Haha..

Anyway, was supposed to wake up at 7.45am for Botanic Garden Race. But somehow I managed to sleep past the alarm (it hardly ever happens), and woke up only because Cornelius called my cellphone.

"Err.. what time is it now?"
Cornelius,"It's 9.45am now."
"Are you kidding?!?!" I exclaimed in utter disbelief.

Anyway, drove down to SBG as soon as I could and had a good time photographing the fun times. Very well planned I must say. If I were a SeTT leader, I would be very proud of the planning committee! Thanks for the games. Sorry can't name the names cos I'm not quite sure who's in the committee. Lunch went on til 3pm and I had to rush back home to check for an email from Pastor Mark about the night's activity. Was too super tired and took a nap from 4.30pm-5.30pm. Ended up taking a cab to Chancery to be in time for the briefing by Pastor Mark.

The night's event was interesting. I was suppose to narrate parts of the bible and some leaders will share, sing a song and do some stuff. We broke bread, drank the wine and ended up washing one another's feet. Haha.. Dun have the pics of those though. Auntie Janet and Lydia should have, aplenty if I might add. Just came home from supper (dinner for me) at Newton Food Centre. Karen, Joy, Josiah and Jere were at the same table as me. I'm not quite sure who started it, but we began asking those silly riddles and telling toopid jokes. Quite funny.. Josiah once laughed until he fell off the chair, but it wasn't at a joke, he was laughing at Karen. Okie, what happened was we couldn't guess the answer to a particular riddle and Joy started explaining the answer. Then we went on to another story/riddle.. and 2 mins later Karen suddenly went,"Okie I give up!" We were like "HUH?!", and then everyone started laughing.

Alright, I'm still super tired now and shall bathe before I get my rest. Hmm, think no need to clean my feet tonight, should be quite clean. Haha..
